A German style of beer from the city of Cologne (Köln in German). Technically (accordingly to our own definition), this is an ale as it’s fermented using an ale yeast. But if you try one of these beers, it looks and tastes much closer to a lager so we’ve included it here. Think of it as a lager with more fruitiness. Only beers produced in and around Cologne can be called a Kölsch.
